Sure, I'm a chef, but it's kind of pathetic how much my life revolves around food. I'm a total fattie. And like one of my roommates once said, it doesn't count if there wasn't food involved. This diary entry is dedicated to the amazing food I've eaten in the last 36 hours.

So, remember the breakup about a week ago? Well, I have a great friend named Peter who stepped in to cheer me up and has really good timing and is overall just an absolutely amazing person who can read my every thought. I met him at church and immediately felt at ease with him. An entire diary entry will be dedicated to him in the coming weeks. Anywho, two nights after the breakup, I spent almost 12 hours at his house watching Johnny Depp movies, and it turned into a hardcore makeout sesh. It was enjoyable, so we agreed to spend more time together. Yesterday's time together involved him cooking Arabic food for me, as seen in the picture. He made pork chops seasoned with bay leaves, soy sauce, and vinegar and a salad with sweet lemon-lime things, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and zucchini. He had me make fried potato slices. Simple enough, right? The salad and pork chops were absolutely divine. Potatoes were ok. His family does a lot of cooking and then leaves the leftovers out for anyone that wants them. The potatoes were still sitting on the counter when I went over tonight, as was the cake I brought over on Sunday. But enough about Peter. I'll blab about him more later.

There is nothing better when it's 10 degrees below zero than a cup of love from Tim Hortons. I can get like a litre of hot chocolate for less than $2 there. It's amazing. Unfortunately, everyone else in the city had the same idea.

It took me a good 20 minutes just to get to the place where they take your order. I would have gone inside, but they have a no shoes no service policy, so that wasn't really an option. Once I got my Timmy's I was all happy again and I was able to concentrate enough to make that atrociously awful blurry video on my previous entry. I promise I better one is coming. Maybe I'll combine it with the entry about Peter.

Amazing food experience number 3:

[40622.jpg]

I was sitting there reading Glamour magazine, minding my own business, when out of nowhere my dad decided to move our solid oak filing cabinets from the second floor to the basement and for some reason my able-bodied 14-year-old brother was unable to be of assistance. Getting the first cabinet down from the top floor to the main floor almost killed me and I yelled to my brother to come help, but he was too busy playing Sims. Having no other choice, my father and I proceeded down the basement stairs without his help. Three steps in, the cabinet fell, pinning my arm between it and the dolly.

Peter was not impressed when he showed up at my house and saw me in a sling. Nothing's broken, but my entire forearm is one big giant, swollen bruise.

My brother felt so bad about being the direct cause of my almost broken arm that he made me a sandwich exactly the way I like it: on rice bread, heated up in the microwave for 30 seconds, then toasted on the lightest setting, with mayo, mustard in a smiley face, Montreal meat, and Havarti cheese. Of course chocolate milk too! (Not sure if you can see it, but there's a jug of chocolate milk sitting on the table in the picture of the food Peter made for me too. I'm an addict.) Since he hates making sandwiches special, it was a really big deal that he actually did it for me. His sincere apology was accepted.

That was the most delicious sandwich of my life.
