I agree with Pierre,our feet are perfect even without nail polish,but polished are also better.
I hope you will not eliminate the starting callous/toughening from your soles !

Have a real dinner with you will be nice but very difficoult (from Italy),but a virtual dinner,through a webcam and messenger,will be more easy an maybe achievable in the future...

It's nice that there are beauty salons that are 'free-style oriented'! There was a time then I thought that personnal in such places are a bit snobistic and fashionable-in-mind. But now I know - many people associated freedom with healthy way)
