as i am discovering the tropical side of costa rica. i had to visit corcovado national park and it's wild animals. it is on the osa island. to get there is a long way from my home. i had to get to next town with bus. from there with another bus to the entrance of the park.. but because i was too late, there were no more buses, only one a day! so i walked. and try to hitchhike my way there. i got picked up by a very friendly 'barefoot' gringo jimmy. who offered me a beer and a herbal smoke while we drove. i got 10 km closer. after a little rest at the beach. i continued my walk in hope for the next ride. 2 more came, for each one or two more kilometers.. it got dark, so dark i could see my feet and stepped on a bbig ugly toad! fu! i deceided to make camp and sleept in the tent by the road inside of nowhere. the next morning i walked 20km to the entrance of the park and the next town. i got suprised by a hard 30min rain. it was refreshing :) to the centre of the park another 16km! i did it! my feet so in pain from all the diffeerent surfaces. rough street. gravel pavement. sand and coral rocks! but it is soooo beautiful here. i seen animals i didn't know excisted. and i wanted to see more! no matter how much my feet are in pain. but on the run to the crocodiles, my soles couldn't hold me anymore, and ripped open!!! the salt water and volcano sand burning my feet... i'm so tierd now.. i was lucky the next morning, a boat shipped me all way back home, and for the next week i will not leave the bed :)

Wow, 42km! Thanks for sharing such a great adventure Nastya! It's cool you're a true, hardcore 24/7 barefooter. Hope your next update comes soon. Let us see how you walk barefoot downtown, in public places, with very dirty soles.
